Our support grants improve the quality of life of individuals and their families who are coping with challenges. These challenges may be health or welfare related and be getting in the way of individuals rebuilding their lives, perhaps after meningitis has struck, or preventing children or young people from getting involved in sport or other activities which can build their confidence and enable them to achieve more in the future.

A small amount of funding can make an enormous difference to people.

Here are some examples of how we have helped:

Applying for a Support Grant

With limited funds and a clear responsibility to our donors and beneficiaries, we have clear criteria for our grants which are reviewed annually. These criteria are used by our Trustees when they assess the eligibility of all applications and the level of funding which could be awarded.

If the person requiring the support grant meets the criteria below, please contact Alison Williams via our social media, telephone number or email address, and she can talk to you about the application process and maximum funds available.

Criteria:

Geographic

Only people resident in the Greater Manchester area are eligible to apply for a grant

Age range

Sometimes age isn't just a number! We aim to help change the lives of those who can't change it themselves, meaning younger applicants may be considered over older. However, we do review all applications so don't be disheartened!

Who can apply?

Any individual or organisation can apply for a grant but the grant must be to benefit a disadvantaged person or group of people who meet the age range criteria (in this context, “disadvantaged” means someone with physical or learning disabilities, or is socially or financially deprived)

Quality of life

Any grant application must clearly demonstrate how it will improve the quality of life of the beneficiary (e.g. improved emotional welfare, self-belief, social inclusion, independence, social acceptance)

We recently received a grant from Believe and Achieve, it was hugely important as it enabled us to move forward with the planning for Cieran’s extension which would allow him some important independence as he grows and develops.

Without the support Believe and Achieve have given to us we would have been lost and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. The extension is now fully completed and Cieran is extremely happy - thank you Believe and Achieve.
